A German manufacturer of agricultural processing equipment needed a new company site in German and English. It had to present the machines properly, sell to several regions and let the company’s own team edit it.
I built the responsive pages in Elementor: a video section, products, company pages and news.
The build ran on the free version of Elementor, which has no theme builder. So I put everything Elementor could not do in a Hello Elementor child theme: a global header and footer, three menus editable in the Customizer, the logo, a news post template and a parallax effect without a plugin.
The machines got their own post type, with list and detail pages and an image slider for each machine. I wrote shortcodes for post lists and for a downloads grid that shows file sizes. The contact form and its spam check load only on pages that have a form.
Two languages and a shop
I set up German and English with WPML. The theme’s header strings would not translate until I registered them again in their real source language, and then I cleaned the duplicates out of the database.
The WooCommerce shop has shop and category pages, filters, «price on request» for products without a price, shipping rates by region, and net prices next to gross. The cart used a hand-made tax sum. On the test site I moved it to WooCommerce’s own taxes, and products with different tax classes added up correctly.
For the client’s team I recorded video guides on translating, sorting products and what the editor role can do. Support went on through 2025, and in February 2026 I made a small change after a full backup and a local preview. In September 2026 the site runs in German and English with its shop, on the child theme from this build.
