A Gutenberg block theme for a machine builder, in German and English
I turned a Figma design into custom Gutenberg blocks and ten pages in German and English, ready for the agency's QA.
The company was getting a new WordPress site from a Figma design built on ready components. The agency’s block theme had blocks made for an older design, and they didn’t match the new one.
I reworked the theme to the Figma design. I rewrote or fully redesigned several blocks, removed two unused ones and added new ones for navigation, footer, hero, a post slider, FAQ, contact form, news, contact and team. Every block is built the same way: a PHP template rendered on the server and a React form in the editor, with a preview in the block list and clear categories. Colours, fonts and spacing live in one set of design tokens, so the editor looks like the real page.
I limited the editor to the custom blocks plus basic text blocks, with isolated styles, so a heading in an article cannot break a custom layout. Gutenberg has a known focus loss in repeating text fields, and I fixed it with stable keys and separate components. The switch between German and English translates the buttons through WPML and has a fallback when WPML is off.
I deployed the theme to staging, built all ten pages in both languages and handed the site over as a full backup. It went to the agency’s QA with every page in both languages, and the editor offers only the blocks made for this design.
Page builder check, plugin cleanup and updates for a trade-fair equipment catalogue
The page editor looked broken after the old page builder disappeared. I checked the whole site, removed the plugins it no longer needed and updated the rest, without touching the hand-patched parts of the shop.
A manufacturer's old WordPress site, new TYPO3 site and domain move
I looked after a metalworking company's old WordPress site, filled and tested its new TYPO3 site, and moved the domain to the new site with the mail intact.
A German and English site with a shop for an equipment maker
I built a German and English company site and WooCommerce shop that the client's own team edits, on a custom child theme I wrote for it.
