I built a small company site from Figma on plain WordPress blocks, so the client edits it in the same editor it was built with.
A small German maker of control cabinets had no simple site to show its product areas and get enquiries. It needed one long home page with those areas and contact, plus the legal pages, and the client had to be able to edit it. The agency had a Figma design, and I built the site on the standard WordPress block theme with plain blocks and no page builder.
Before the build I clarified with the agency which part of the Figma file was the final page. I recorded a short video on how the site editor keeps layout and content apart, so the client changes text with one click. The home page menu jumps to each section with smooth scrolling, in CSS only. On phones the alternating sections show the image above the text, and the page keeps one rhythm.
Contact became a section of the home page, as agreed with the agency, and I added the imprint and privacy pages. I also asked for the original images, since the Figma exports were of lower quality. I delivered three pages at the end of November 2023, and the client edits the site in the same editor it was built with.
The page editor looked broken after the old page builder disappeared. I checked the whole site, removed the plugins it no longer needed and updated the rest, without touching the hand-patched parts of the shop.
I turned a Figma design into custom Gutenberg blocks and ten pages in German and English, ready for the agency's QA.
I looked after a metalworking company's old WordPress site, filled and tested its new TYPO3 site, and moved the domain to the new site with the mail intact.
